These are some of the questions I have been asked before and I always give the people a smile laced with some lowkey need to cuss them out but I always hold my tongue.
I understand their questions though!
Friends! The Random people with whom you have a bond of mutual affection, usually, exclusive of sexual relations.
A lot has been said about friendships and especially friendships between the opposite sex.
I have to admit that I am one of those girls with very many men in their lives but thanks to the society, I always find myself justifying and explaining the relationships (don’t even get me started with the stop-talking-to-my-man text messages).
I love my male friends A LOT and I tell them this all the time.
I’ve always gotten along really well with guys. I guess it’s because growing up, I was really really into sports and not so much into the color pink, and definitely not into baby dolls. I was always the one to be running around throwing the football with boys in the neighbourhood, while other girls my age were playing with Barbies or playing dress up. Looking back, I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way because, throughout my life, my guy friends have taught me some of the most important lessons.
1. Get dirty…It’s fun
Get your hands dirty and have fun while doing it. They will make you do fun stuff to get your hands dirty and most of the time, you never even notice it.
2. It’s not That big of a deal
You’re probably overreacting and getting yourself worked up about nothing. His advice is often the best because it is the least clouded with bullshit and straight to the point.
4. You can have a few drinks without getting too emotional
It’s possible to go out in a large group without having to deal with any alcohol-induced mental breakdowns.
5. Honesty
If you cannot handle honesty well, they might not be for you.
6. Forever is a long time
Literally this!! Especially with relationships.
7. Being straightforward is better than honesty
They will tell you, “stop being an idiot and get your head out your arse” and at times you will get mad but you will get over it.
8. Holding grudges is stupid
If you argue and are angry, you go calm down and come back after a few minutes. At times you don’t have to wait a few minutes. They hug you and tell you “we cool”.
7. Why so serious? Don’t!
I love this one because they will joke about things that you’d prefer nobody joking about them but guess what? They’re your friends they have EVERY right to do so.
8. “Kung Fu Panda”ing
You will learn self-defence (mostly punching)
9. I am special
This is a fav.
They show you how special you are by doing small things that to them means nothing but to you, they mean the world.
10. Keep Building even when you Fail
When you fail, get up, dust yourself and keep pushing.
11. Laugh often
When you have a good laugh with them, it will be a GOOD LAUGH.

13. Mind your business
This is self-explanatory really.

Because we all need it.

16. You’re one of the boys
Okay look! Once you’re one of the boys, don’t expect special treatment because you will not get it.
BONUS: Getting used to the light punches on your arm.
At first, it’s annoying but you get used to it.
I have learnt all this and more.
I am thankful for the men in my life really. Once you stop paying mind to those who question everything about your friendships and focus on them, you will have it easy.
